Make Sure Your Download Gets Posted

Members may add downloads to this area of the site, but if their post does not follow the instructions, it will not be posted. So, read the instructions first.

All download posts are reviewed before being put on the site. If the post meets the requirements below and follows the correct procedure, it will be added promptly to the "Member Additions" forum.

Things to keep in mind:

1) Make sure your download isn't already listed on the site - perform a forum search.

2) Make sure you are authorized to post this download.

3) Do not try and upload the file to this forum. Link to the download from your post.

4) Make sure the download link works. If I test the link and it doesn't work, I'm not going to try and correct it. I'll simply delete the post.

Restrictions on file type and content:

1) Software, ebooks and pictures and/or movies are ok ... but ...

2) Content matters. I will not allow you to post links to files/websites that contain/link to/promote any of the following:

-- Hateful or racist information or opinions
-- Sexual content of any sort - even skimpy bikini pictures
-- Stolen/pirated/cracked software or files
-- Any other content deemed inappropriate by me and/or any of my moderators

Just keep it clean and useful and your post will go through fine.

Formatting of your Download Post:

1) Be sure you're posting your download as a new topic in the "Member Additions" area.

2) Put the title/name of the download in the "Topic Title" field.

3) Put a short but useful description in the "Topic Description" field.

4) Put a link to download the file at the TOP of your post for easy access. Format the link so that it is "clickable" using the "http://" tag button. Clicking this button will pop-up a dialogue box which asks for the URL to the download. Then it will ask you for the title for the link. Use the URL as the title as well.

You've already indicated the name of the software file in your Forum Topic Title. Using the URL as the link title allows the reader to actually see the link they'll be heading to.

All download links formatted in this way will automatically open in a new window when a reader clicks on them.

5) Below the download link be sure to describe the software well in your post and feel free to include personal experience using the software and your impressions of it.

6) If you'd like to, for convenience sake, include the download link at the end of the post as well. This is not mandatory.

I hope this helps. There are plenty of forums out there that will allow you to post some of the stuff that I won't. If you're offended that I will not allow these types of links/downloads on my site, you are free to find another forum to frequent.

Thank you.
