Hi Guys, Just read back through some of the threads. I have just recieved a CAI system for my truck and had some question on just how much better FILTERING Efficieny and particulate size my new filter(Donaldson Power core) will do compaired to the stock Pleated Paper filter.
Does GM or anyone else for that matter have specks on surface area, efficieny, and particulate size filtered out on their stock filters. Mine happens to be A #1635357 or K&N 1616142.
Now for the second question of the most importance to me. Does anyone know where I can get the above info on the Donaldson "Power Core", sent with my system, filter so I would be able to really compaire the stock over the add on. I assume it is better and they Donaldson say 99.8% efficient, while saying others but not who they are, are up to 98 .5% efficient. And what does the approxamate 1% difference make? No mention of filtered particulate size?
I have it and I just want some facts and the Donaldson site (I could not find it) did not allow me to ask them questions like this. GM does ot as far as I know do it either and that is why I am here and some someone out there can help me with some answers or where to go to get them. Thanks guys, M C.
